The Kramer MTX3-16-M is an intelligent, high-performance 16×16 modular matrix chassis designed for switching and distributing multi-format audiovisual signals. Built for professional AV environments, it features a CTRL central control card with secured LAN connectivity for remote management and control, along with eight flexible card slots for modular matrix cards. This allows a configurable mix of quad or dual port input/output cards supporting multiple signal types such as DVI, HDMI, Fiber Optic, and Ethernet (RJ-45).
Engineered for a high-resolution audio-visual experience, the MTX3-16-M supports high 4K/60 UHD (4:4:4) distribution with 4K HDR, while the matrix central control is 8K-ready to support future upgrades to 8K-capable modular cards. HDCP 2.2 compatibility supports protected content workflows for professional AV installations.

For HDMI™ switching, the MTX3-16-M supports HDMI 2.0 features such as deep color, x.v.Color™, CEC, lip sync, uncompressed HDMI audio channels, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, 2K, 4K, and 3D. I-EDIDPro™ Kramer Intelligent EDID Processing™ provides intelligent EDID management on each input to ensure plug-and-play operation. Kramer Equalization & re-Klocking™ technology professionally rebuilds switched digital signals, preparing them for reliable long-distance distribution over copper and fiber optic cabling.
Comprehensive Control & Security-Certified Operation
Control can be performed remotely via the Kramer Control application, through a user-friendly web UI, or locally using the touch screen, front panel control buttons, and LCD display. The RS-232 service port supports high-level Protocol 3000 APIs for integration. The matrix is certified for OWASP-10 compliance to support secured web UI access, communication, and remote operation and management.
Simple Management & Easy Installation
Compatibility with the Kramer enterprise management platform enables remote discovery, configuration, switching operations, diagnostics, and firmware upgrade management. Maintenance is simplified with front panel LED indicators, LCD status display, a low-noise field-replaceable fan unit, and local USB firmware upgrading. The compact 3U 19” rack-mount enclosure includes a universal 100–240V AC power supply, and PoE can be provided over HDBaseT cables to remote endpoints (where applicable), reducing the need for local mains powering.
